Our #1 rule is that obedience should be fun!

Yes, it’s okay to laugh out loud during dog training. A relaxed atmosphere makes you and your dog look forward to class each week.

We offer two levels of obedience – basic & advanced. Each class meets once a week on a weekday evening for 5 weeks with the cost being $89. We keep our prices low to encourage folks to train their dogs. A small investment in time and money can make all the difference in the life of a pet you may have for 10+ years. A well-behaved dog is a joy to your family and friends.

We use training methods that develop teamwork between the handler and the dog. Our dogs work for love, not treats or intimidation, and the owner is directly involved in the training at all times except for in-kennel training.

We offer the 5-week sessions of obedience classes from March to November. During the off-season or if your schedule does not permit a group class, we have in-kennel training and “Great Start” classes available to help you with obedience and behavior issues until the group classes resume again in the spring. Overall, we encourage folks to opt for the group classes simply because it adds the elements of distraction and socialization with other people and other dogs, and holds you accountable for working with your dog every day between classes.

BASIC COMPANION DOG OBEDIENCE
Our goal is to get your dog started off leash in 5 weeks. As with all levels, we are training you to train your dog. This is a practical application obedience where we cover control exercises, behavior problems, and boundary training. Part of the class is a question/answer time so you can gain a lot of good general dog information plus have a chance to ask specific questions about your dog.

ADVANCED OBEDIENCE
In this class, we introduce hand signals, distraction elements, basic agility, dynamic off-leash exercises, and of course . . . practical applications for everyday living.

ALL BREEDS ARE WELCOME!
From rare breeds to common, purebred to mixed, extra large to extra small, and middle-aged to puppy - the diversity in each class truly makes the experience unique. In other words . . . Your dog is welcome at Thunder Valley
